Cha-An Teahouse
Project Type
Hospitality
Date
2004
Location
New York City, NY
The teahouse offers a tranquil oasis, providing visitors with the opportunity to fully experience the essence of the Japanese tea ceremony away from the bustling noise of the city. The teahouse space measures about 6'x9', encompassing three tatami mats.
To maintain an authentic atmosphere, the majority of the materials used in the teahouse are imported from Japan. This includes Cyprus pillars, Bamboo grid ceilings, wall stucco, and wall rice papers.
